Emily Mitzel

Emily is our Front Office Manager. 

A Graduate from SUNY Cortland in New York for her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training, Emily then earned her masters from UNC at Greensboro in Sport Psychology. She started her career as an assistant athletic trainer at Western Carolina University working with the Women's Volleyball and Softball teams. She then moved into the role of physician extender with Carolina West Sports Medicine working with Dr. Judson Garbarino and covering home events for Robbinsville High School athletics. She transitioned to Sylva Orthopedics and worked as an assistant to Dr. Douglas Gates. She then progressed to a manager role serving as the site coordinator for Blue Ridge Health in their Jackson County location before joining the team here as our office manager.  Emily lives in Sylva with her husband, Jonathan and their two boys, Sawyer and Oliver. Emily enjoys spending time with family, baking on the side, and watching her boys just getting into sports!
