Emily Fisher

Physical Therapist Assistant

Emily Fisher, along with her husband Spencer, moved back to Western NC in 2017 to be closer to family. Originally from Jackson County, they spent 15 years in Bettendorf, IA, pursuing careers in mixed martial arts. Both became professional fighters, with Spencer fighting for the UFC for 7 years. After retiring from the sport, Emily transitioned into personal training and has been certified for over 13 years, specializing in working with individuals with neurological disorders, particularly Parkinson’s Disease. Her most recent achievement is graduating from Southwestern Community College as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

Passionate about helping others, Emily co-founded Glory Martial Arts and Fitness in Sylva with Spencer, offering classes in self-defense and fitness. She also focuses on exercise programs tailored to those with PD, using her extensive background in martial arts to design impactful routines. Focusing her work on this clientele is a passion of hers. Being able to see her clients improve their functionality, keep their health, independence, and have a better outlook on life has been the greatest reward she can get.
