Alyssa Walston
Physical Therapist Assistant
Alyssa, a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, received her Associate of Applied Science degree from Southwestern Community College in May 2018, and her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Lourdes University, Ohio in May 2015. During her time at Lourdes University, Alyssa was on the women’s Fastpitch Softball team. Alyssa was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region Second Team, becoming the first Lourdes University player in program history to earn this honor. She also was a First-Team All Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference selection for the Gray Wolves and voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I First Team. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a biology major and chemistry minor. Alyssa found her love for Physical Therapy and helping others while she experienced injuries, physical therapy and rehab in sports medicine. She then went back to school to pursue her passion at Southwestern Community College where she earned her Physical Therapist Assistant degree. During her time at SCC, Alyssa was class President, awarded the Excellence Recognition Awarded for Outstanding Academic Achievement, awarded Student of Distinction, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. In addition to her other qualifications, Alyssa also holds certifications in Rock Tape as well as IATSM (Instrumental Assisted Soft Tissue Massage).
Alyssa was born and raised in Archbold, OH, but now calls the mountains of Western Carolina her home. She resides with her husband, Karson, and their family of animals. Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys all sports and spending much of her time outdoors by the river either hiking, running, swimming, or spending time with her German Shepard, Rhemie.Â
