Dry

Needling

Dry needling is a skilled intervention that uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate myofascial trigger points (painful knots), muscular and connective tissues for the management of myofascial pain. Proper dry needling of a myofascial trigger point produces an analgesic effect, reducing pain and movement impairments. Some conditions that can be treated include: low back pain, hip pain, knee pain, neck pain, headaches, tennis/golfer’s elbow, Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis.  Ben Rickert, PT, Blake Queen, DPT, Jared Sonnier, DPT, and Erik Watkins, DPT are all certified to perform dry needling. Dry needling can be done as a standalone treatment or as part of a larger plan of care by one of our physical therapists.
